Capi brings latest innovations and proven retail concept to Cannes
Hoofddorp, 26 September 2017 – In Cannes this year, Capi, the leading airport retailer of consumer electronics, will bring the latest innovations in VR and drones accompanied by an exciting presentation. Moreover, the travel retailer will showcase its centrepiece of the stores, The Gadget Table, and the renewed Travellers Choice marketing concept.
The popularity of drones has been clearly reflected in the success of the DJI Mavic Pro drone in the Capi stores. Many travellers are very excited to buy this innovative product. In the drone market, there are many models available in the lower and higher price segments, but there is actually a lack of mid-price range drones. That is why DJI, as an important player in this market, introduced the Spark; a mini drone of €599 that still features all of DJI’s innovative technologies. Capi will bring both drones to Cannes. Furthermore, Capi will present one of DJI’s latest innovations; the DJI Goggles. The travel retailer will create a VR counter in its stand to let visitors discover this immersive VR experience.
Moreover, as a centrepiece of its stand, Capi will bring The Gadget Table to Cannes. As Peter Wiggers, Managing Director of Royal Capi-Lux explains: “With The Gadget Table, we surprise travellers with exciting gifts and gadgets. At TFWA World Exhibition & Conference, we will present surprising gadgets like the Pearl mini powerbank mirror, the Mitone VR glasses and the flying ball Flash Ball, which visitors can try out and discover in our stand. And as a special, you will find ‘Sweet notes’ on this table. These are small personal messages to remind travellers to buy a present for their friends, family or business relations.”
In addition, Capi’s marketing concept Travellers Choice, aimed to present a pre-selected choice of fast-selling and best reviewed products, has recently been updated. With this concept, we now clearly focus on our marketing drivers Emotion, Focus & Competence. The left part of the so-called ‘Heroes’ is fully dedicated to a lifestyle visual which shows Emotion. In the middle, Focus is on the product and its Touch & Feel presentation. On the right side, we highlight the brand’s logo and the awards the product received, showing Competence.
Thanks to our close collaboration with our suppliers, we are also able to present exclusive propositions in our stores and of course in our stand. Just like the presentation co-created with JBL, showcasing a creative and exciting presentation of the JBL GO speakers.
Lastly, we will present our private brand Mitone, which is exclusively developed for the travel retail market and especially designed for fashion-sensitive and price-conscious travellers.
